Downscaling: Advisory Services for a Microfinance Bank, since 2009

In 2009, LFS was commissioned by the IFC to support a Microfinance Bank in Indonesia in its objective of becoming an efficient, large-scale MSME bank.

In the first phase of the project, LFS assisted the partner bank in developing and implementing best-practice MSME loan products, policies, processes and procedures in two pilot branches. Furthermore, strategic business planning and intensive capacity building were important elements. The assignment is carried out in close colaboration with the Partner Bank, to ensure ownership and effectiveness of the results.

In a second phase, the products and policies developed in the first phase are rolled out to further branches of the Partner Bank.
