New network institution in Brazil

The most recent member of the Access Network is a microfinance institution in Brazil, which was acquired by AccessHolding from Accion Gateway Fund in January 2015. AccessCrédito SCMEPP S.A. (ACB) is a credit-only microfinance institution with headquarters in Manaus, the capital city of the state of Amazonas, Northern Brazil.

Compared to many other countries in Latin America, the financial services sector of Brazil is more developed and diversified, offering a good variety of products and services for corporate and consumer clients. However, its microfinance sector is still underdeveloped. This impedes the progress of the country’s micro and small business sector and its ability to generate employment and income.

ACB’s vision is thus to become one of the leading microfinance institution in Brazil by providing sustainable financial services to micro and small entrepreneurs.

Consequently, AccessHolding has acquired this institution with the objective to take it to the next growth stage and expand its operations (both within and outside the state of Amazonas) whilst maintaining its core mission and business model.
